Deputy Chris Luque of the Clark County Sheriff's Office leads a suspected drunken driver into WSP's mobile Impaired Driving Unit during the annual Night of 1,000 Stars DUI crackdown in early December. The name is meant to evoke police badges shining in the night. Nearly 200 drivers were arrested for driving under the influence in Clark County between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day.

Brandon Coats works on his computer at his home in Denver on Thursday. Coats' Colorado case is giving employers pause. Coats, 33, was a telephone operator for Dish Network. Paralyzed as a teenager in a car crash, he's also been a medical marijuana patient in Colorado since 2009.
