Ridgefield has plenty of room for growth on largely vacant land near Interstate 5, where a blighted former farm house remains standing at the traffic circle on Pioneer Street at North 45th Street. City leaders hope land along Pioneer Street, with its easy freeway access, will attract businesses with family-wage jobs, but some worry that new residents will have little connection to the city’s historic core three miles from the freeway.
