Detective Darren McShea with the Vancouver Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit undergoes a physical exam for the $3 million, four-year SHIELD study. The research aims to find ways to keep police officers fit and healthy. McShea, a marathon runner, was the fittest of officers tested in Clark County.
