Felicia Hill, who operates her custom cake business FH Cakes from her home kitchen, lobbied in Olympia last year to help pass the state's Cottage Food Law, which went into effect this week. The law allows certain home food businesses to operate with direct sales of specific kinds of low-risk foods such as cakes, bread, jams and jelly.
