Veterans look for work at a job fair sponsored by WorkSource at the new Armed Forces Reserve Center on Nov. 17. Washington state’s economy added a net 1,200 jobs from August to September, the state Employment Security Department reported Wednesday, as unemployment dropped to 8.5 percent — down from an estimated 8.6 percent a month earlier.
