Commercial beer brewing has a long history in downtown Vancouver, with the last large operation -- the Lucky Lager Brewery, shown here in 1953 -- shutting down in 1985. Its looming structure was demolished in 1995 and the site redeveloped as the three-tower Vancouvercenter.
