Jule Sugnet, 10, of Portland, waves to her mother and brother as Tom Sampson taxis his experimental home-built RV-7 airplane after taking the youngster for a ride during Pearson Air Museum's Open Cockpit Day on Saturday. The event is designed to get children excited about aviation and gave kids ages 8 to 17 a chance for a free ride in an array of airplanes.
