A freeway ramp occupies what once was a buffer zone between Joel and Melissa Dodge's home and state Highway 500. The change, brought about by the construction of a new interchange at St. Johns Boulevard, has put traffic only a few feet from the family's house and created difficulties for their 6-year-old son, who is autistic.
