The Sumpter dredge, here in June 2004, was one of three that took some 9 tons of gold from the Sumpter Valley in Oregon. A ghost-themed reality TV show that was made last summer near Sumpter is scheduled to debut Jan. 16 on the Syfy network. "Ghost Mine" combines ghost hunting and the area's mining history.
