OR-7, the Oregon wolf that has trekked across two states looking for a mate, is seen on a sagebrush hillside May 8 in Modoc County, Calif. California's lone gray wolf passed his one-year anniversary as a transplant resident of the Golden State with the same technical amenities many people possess, including a Twitter account and a website devoted to his travels. One state and two federal agencies now have to figure out how to manage the species when others inevitably follow him.
