North Image: U.S. Army Capt. Jude Mazzotta, from Vancouver, discusses a hydroelectric power plant system during a Dec. 6 assessment visit to Kawri, Afghanistan. A 22-year-old contractor, Shafiqullah, center, built the system that provides power to 25 families in the remote village. Mazzotta and other civil affairs personnel are helping coordinate a possible expansion.
