Camas officials have closed the public library this afternoon after someone called in a threat saying a bomb would explode there later today.

Someone called about 1:30 p.m. Friday, expressed displeasure with some aspect of the library and said a bomb was there, said Sgt. Dave Chaney with the Camas Police Department. He declined to be more specific, saying police are withholding details as part of the investigation.

Police evacuated the building, consulted with the Metro Explosives team, searched the building and found nothing.

To be on the safe side, officials closed the library the rest of the day, but it will reopen Saturday, Chaney said.
