With the city buying a gorgeous building for city hall and a beautiful new library being built, one could argue taxpayers have ponied up for two of the nicest joints around. I'm thinking:

Government here should be building and buying wonderful buildings. They're like center pieces to show our best side. (18.75% - 177 votes)

All this fancy stuff just feels a little pretentious. Government should show more humility. (45.34% - 428 votes)

As the BP oil spill continues to make headlines we now learn that deep water drilling in the Gulf has gone from producing only 4 percent of oil there in 1989 to 80 percent in 2009. I'm thinking:

No one likes this mess BP has created but let's be honest. We need the oil. Keep drilling in deep water! (42.50% - 487 votes)

No one likes this mess BP has created and it should teach us that deep water oil drilling can turn into a disaster. Stop it! (8.99% - 103 votes)
