May 2010 Polls

Do you think the City of Vancouver should buy the ex-Columbian building in order to consolidate most of its office workers?

From what I'm reading, it sounds like a pretty good deal right now, with some cost savings, and the city should strongly consider it. (51.99% - 743 votes)

I'm very skeptical the city should commit to this right now. Let's pass and wait for a better time. (25.75% - 368 votes)

Why not put a casino in that building instead? (22.25% - 318 votes)

With the possibility of new jobs coming to the port and unemployment numbers in Clark County inching down, I'm thinking...

Things are finally turning around. Is that "Happy days are here again" in the background? (6.93% - 75 votes)

Fugetaboutit. We're at least a year away from any real, good news. (59.70% - 646 votes)

I could swing either way on this question but I'll take any good news I can get. (33.36% - 361 votes)

Do you think it's a good idea to openly carry a weapon in Clark County?

Yes, I don't see any harm in it. (53.91% - 1,056 votes)

Should we replace the I-5 bridge?

Yes and I'm a believer in user fees - like tolls - to pay for some of it so those who use something more than I do should pay more. (39.13% - 225 votes)

Yes and I'm a not a believer in user fees so the taxpayer should pay for the entire bridge even if they don't use it. (24.87% - 143 votes)

No, the current bridge is plenty good. Let's talk about a replacement bridge 10 years from now. (36.00% - 207 votes)

As La Center continues to wrestle with prospects of the proposed Cowlitz casino that would be built nearby, I was thinking...

The casino is a good idea because it would bring jobs, be fun for all and I would win lots of money. (40.96% - 367 votes)

The casino is a terrible idea because it would bring crime, be a headache for all and I would lose lots of money. (19.42% - 174 votes)

Hey, if we want a casino, forget this Indian tribe thing. A private group should put one up so we could tax the heck out of it. (39.62% - 355 votes)

Arizona's new law - which makes it a state crime to lack immigration papers and requires police to determine whether people they stop are in the United States illegally - is controversial. I'm thinking:

The law goes too far and should be re-written or thrown out. (21.34% - 289 votes)

The law doesn't go far enough and we should make it even more difficult to be in this country illegally. (52.81% - 715 votes)

The law is just about right as is. (25.85% - 350 votes)
