Should losing election candidates be able to mount write-in campaigns?

Yes. People should be able to vote for whomever they want at any time. (46.02% - 133 votes)

No. The state's "sore loser" law prohibits candidates who lose the primary from running as write-ins, and that is a good rule. (42.21% - 122 votes)

What's your view on the upcoming C-Tran vote?

I'll support it. We need to continue our current level of bus service, especially with these high gas prices. (43.66% - 124 votes)

I'm against it. Bus service should take a hit, just like everyone else has in the recession. (25.35% - 72 votes)

What do you think of Standard & Poor’s decision to strip the U.S. government of its top credit rating?

It just shows that the federal government can't continue to spend money it doesn't have. Let's get serious about reducing the debt. (70.64% - 866 votes)

They probably had to do it but this wasn't the right time. They should have waited until after our economy recovered. (5.71% - 70 votes)

They didn't have to do it. The United States is still the best bet around. The world can count on us. (23.65% - 290 votes)

In your view, how's our new congresswoman, Jaime Herrera Beutler, doing?

She's doing a great job. Her predictable conservative views are a breath of fresh air compared with her predecessor. (32.07% - 110 votes)

I'm not pleased. She seems to listen too much to the Tea Party and other ultraconservatives. (49.85% - 171 votes)

Now that the deficit ceiling fiasco is behind us (for now) I'm thinking the government:

Should have increased taxes on the wealthy and eliminated many business tax breaks. (47.92% - 646 votes)
