Some business groups are signaling support for a state tax increase along with spending cuts. Your view?

Agreed. To best position Washington for recovery, tax hikes need to be considered along with further state spending reductions. (29.19% - 47 votes)

Tax increases absolutely should be off the table. Cut the length of the school year and/or lay off teachers if necessary. (57.76% - 93 votes)

Enough cuts have been made to state spending. Taxes and other state revenue must be increased. (13.04% - 21 votes)

The waterfront trail near Tidewater Cove remains closed due to last winter's washout. What should be done?

The city should make it a priority and repair it ASAP. Take the money from the general fund if need be. (21.01% - 50 votes)

The trail should remain closed until it makes its way to the top of the parks priority list. (29.83% - 71 votes)

Several reports have come out about the pensions that governmental workers receive including former Oregon football coach Mike Bellotti's $500,000 a year. Your thoughts?

Governmental employees work hard and deserve every penny they get in pensions. (21.65% - 212 votes)

Even if you take out some of the outrageous dollars the top governmental employees get, taxpayers can't afford the average pension especially that hardly any private workers even get a pension. (48.31% - 473 votes)

Since government management (they decide on these pensions through negotiations with the unions) usually gets the same kind of pension, how in the world can we expect them to rein it in? (30.03% - 294 votes)
