After residents approved money for C-Tran when it said it desperately needed it in 2011 to keep the system running smoothly, some of its workers just received 5 percent raises. I'm thinking:

These folks haven't had raises for years. It's about time. (27.69% - 311 votes)

The private sector could only wish for a raise like this. (50.67% - 569 votes)

You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into the Twilight Zone. (21.64% - 243 votes)

Mayor Tim Leavitt says he'll seek re-election. Who else would you like to see in the race?

Former city councilman Dan Tonkovich. His competence is sorely missed at city hall. (27.27% - 72 votes)

Former mayor Royce Pollard. Tanned, rested, ready. (19.70% - 52 votes)

Any councilwoman named Jeanne. (7.58% - 20 votes)

Rep. Ed Orcutt recently claimed bicyclists cause air pollution. What's your take?

It was a dumb thing to say that bicyclists pollute the air with their heavy breathing. So do politicians with this kind of remark. (45.08% - 119 votes)

I liked it. Rep. Orcutt took a swipe at political correctness while making a valid point that cyclists should pay for roads, too. (21.97% - 58 votes)

Orcutt's point about sharing costs was a good one, but the awkward statement got in his way. (32.95% - 87 votes)

The Washington Supreme Court struck down a voter-approved initiative requiring a two-thirds vote in the Legislature for tax increases. It will make it easier for politicians to raise taxes. I'm thinking:

I support justices and politicians who will make it easier to raise needed taxes. (21.33% - 366 votes)

I will vote against justices and politicians who make it easier to raise taxes and who refuse to allow residents a chance to change the state constitution to make a two-thirds vote mandatory to raise taxes. (75.12% - 1,289 votes)
