The Christmas Ship Parade sets sail in east Clark County on Dec. 6 and continues its run Dec. 10-21 on the Columbia and Willamette rivers. The parade will pass through Clark County on Dec. 6, Dec. 10-12 and Dec. 15-19. About 25 ships decorated with holiday-themed lighted displays will sail along the Columbia River, but not all boats will participate each night. Click your date of choice for that evening's route, as well as the best places to view the parade.

Route
Fleet assembles at 7 p.m. in front of the James M. Gleason Boat Ramp, at 43rd Avenue and Northeast Marine Drive, and heads downriver to North Portland Harbor, which is on the Oregon side of Hayden Island. The fleet will be out for about two hours. All times are estimates and routes are subject to conditions related to safety, commercial river traffic, weather, debris and water conditions. Tips: The best views in Marine Park come by taking the park's trails to a river viewpoint. One such viewpoint is the Kaiser Viewing Tower, which offers river views and information about the Kaiser Shipyard's role in World War II.
Tips: Salty's accepts reservations and is typically booked by the time the boats sail. But there is seating in the bar for diners without reservations. Diners can head to the heated upstairs deck. Coffee and cocoa will be served, blankets will be available, and heaters will help keep diners warm while the ships pass.
