QUEENSTOWN, New Zealand (AP) — American snowboarder Jamie Anderson waited out a lengthy weather delay before producing a flawless performance to win a women’s World Cup slopestyle event in New Zealand on Monday.

The four-time X Games gold medalist bettered her World Tour ranking of No. 2 as she beat Britain’s Jenny Jones and Cheryl Maas of the Netherlands to take first place.

Poor weather forced the postponement of the men’s slopestyle heats and final and delayed the women’s event so that Anderson, among eight finalists, finished in fading daylight.

Anderson scored 94.75 points on her first run and clinched victory when none of her closest competitors could match her score on the second run.
