Robert Cramer won the high jump by two inches to lead the Camas boys track and field team to a runner-up finish Saturday at the 3A bi-district meet at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma.

Cramer had a jump of 6 feet, 4 inches. Three other Clark County athletes — Kelly Morris (Union), Garett Thayer (Columbia River) and Sean Daly (Columbia River) — placed in the top seven of the high jump and advance to state next week in Pasco.

Union’s Kinsely Ojukwu won three events to lead the Titans to a third place team finish.

Ojukwu won the 100 and 200 meters, as well as the triple jump. The sophomore also set a meet record in the 100 with a time of 10.78, breaking last year’s record of 10.85.

The Titans’ Mitch Saylor won the javelin with a throw of 183-10.

Amanda and Athena Alvarez both placed in the top four of the triple jump as the Columbia River girls track and field team finished fourth.
Amanda finished second with a leap of 36-3¾, while Athena took fourth with a jump of 35-7¼.

The Chieftains’ Whitney Gassaway placed third in the pole vault.

Sarah Takayoshi finished in the top seven in two events to advance to state in the 100 and 200 meters, and help Union finish ninth.

Alyssa Turner of Hudson’s Bay took second in the 300 hurdles, and third in the 100 hurdles to advance in both.
