Skyview senior Sammi Hampton captured her fourth 4A district title on Saturday, defeating Camas’ Esther Kwon 6-0, 6-1 at Vancouver Tennis Center.

Columbia River's Dominik Gorecki went undefeated against Clark County competition in the fall season, losing only in the bi-district championship match. He then went 2-2 at state at the end of May to place eighth for a second year in a row.

The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association just made life a bit easier for Clark County football fans. Clark County has two football quarterfinalists and fans will not have to pick one over the other in terms of which one to watch. The games are on different nights.

How hard is it to schedule a state tournament that does not run some 3 hours behind schedule? Sadly, it’s becoming all too frequent for Washington Interscholastic Activities Association tournaments. Basketball in the winter is a classic case. Now it’s volleyball.
