Steven Lane
Columbian staff photographer Steven Lane was raised in a small town located on the banks of the Missouri River in South Dakota. He studied biology at South Dakota State University before turning his attention to photography. After moving to Portland in 1992, he freelanced until joining The Columbian in 2002. Steve's work has been recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists, the National Press Photographers Association and the Associated Press.
