These reality trash shows are changing our culture for the worse.

I would have to agree with that statement on most of these shows, ones like "Honey Boo-boo" and "Jersey Shore" or is it "Snookie and JWow" or whatever..disgusting shows.
I have to agree with Roger about the Kardashians crowd being "clowns" for hire, anything to get attention.

Phil Robertson went to Southeastern Louisiana University (Louisiana Tech) with Terry Bradshaw, Bradshaw was Robertson's back-up quarter back on the football team. Robertson (teaching degree) chose to not go pro like Bradshaw did. Will Robertson (son) went to Harding University (business degree), oldest son has been a minister for 22 yrs.
From what I have read, Phil Robertson started making duck calls 40 yrs ago. As the sons grew up, they went to college. They came home and put their degrees to work in the family business growing it to a multi-million dollar business of sports gear and clothing.
Isn't this one of many," American dream" , building a business from the ground up, generations of your children and grandchildren running the business? So the Robertson family is not uneducated nor are they country bumpkins. They are simply a family that believes in God and the Bible, and has made no bones about it.
It's refreshing to watch a TV program that isn't filled with cursing, sex, and violence against other humans.
I like the fact the family gathers at the dinner table at the end of the day. It shows no matter what, at the end of the day, one of the most important things is your family.

As I said last night, "Telling people what to say and do is akin to keeping them "in the closet". They are not allowed to express who they are. How can honest dialogue ever hope to be used in this country to solve problems if we all get "offended" because it may not be the view we, ourselves have?"

"Duck Dude" didn't say it on the program, it was in an interview with GQ. Martin Bashir never got fired, he left on his own.

So, Phil Robertson regurgitated some verses from the Bible and talked about his thoughts on "sins", if you will. What are we raising here a nation of pansies? Get over yourselves. Watch the movie PCU and laugh at the joke political correctness is. Think about this... Telling people what to say and do is akin to keeping them "in the closet". They are not allowed to express who they are. How can honest dialogue ever hope to be used in this country to solve problems if we all get "offended" because it may not be the view we, ourselves have?

Well so far I haven't gotten any pop ups telling me about having to pay anything..so I have no idea if I have "used" any of the 30 free.
I am going to be one that refuse to pay. I just can't see paying $18 a month, that money can be better spent for food to give to the food bank or help buy a pair a shoes for a kid in need.
If they are going to give 30 free, I'll use those, if not..oh well there are many other sites out there that are free I use.

Am I misreading this about charges? I understand it to be that you can READ 30 articles a month free after that, one will have to pay. So if the forum ISN'T considered a article ..

Dee what can I say, you and I are cut from the same cloth as far as that goes.
Nothing gives me more joy than watching a child's face light up when given a gift of a cookie, toy. See the tears of gratefulness from parents that struggle with day to day expenses have gifts for their little ones at Christmas time..or boxes of food arrive on their doorstep just in time. A Christmas tree left at a doorstep, a pair of new slippers for those in nursing homes, or spend time talking, reading with them..their families have all but forgotten them. The single mom who just gave birth and have nothing for the baby, wakes to find a basket full of everything she'll need for her little one.
So much need out there and few step up. Oh they talk about helping, they complain about those who don't have and those who do and do nothing. One hasn't a clue until they roll up their sleeves and help others.

May the Lord bless you Dee

Matthew 25:35-40

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

When I got up this morning 4 am our son had already switched from the heat pump to the emergency heat (furnace). I asked why he said the heat pump was working too hard to try to keep the house at 63 degrees so switched it over. So now we wait til it warms to 25 degrees outside then go back to the heat pump for heat.

Anyone watch the State championship for high school football last night between Camas high and Chiawana high of Pasco? Great game! One of the best I have seen in a long time!

Pretty much same as what the Bible teaches..

Matthew 6:2-4

2 “So when you give to the poor, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be honored by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
