That oil production is at an almost stand still there. Only one still on the North-Slope testing is Shell. So very little is coming out of Alaska at the moment. Others have pretty much left cause of environmentalist and went to the Dakotas. That might be one of the reasons.
nailingit, why are you so surprised at what manthou said? You'll find many are moving to the middle, tired of the BS coming from both sides. What we see today of both parties, are far, far from being the parties of yesterdays. IMO both are so messed up and only in it for themselves, but what is one to do when you can only register to vote as one or the other?
Manthou, ended up telling my pulmonary dr off today. Told her to get her crap right and stop using me as a guinea pig. So she changed my medicines again! Told her if this doesn't work then I'm going back to the old way, at least I didn't feel like crap and I could breathe. When I told her how I felt after using the new meds, she looked at me like I was lying, ticked me off so bad I told her to take the smirk look off her face or I'd slap it off. She has this last chance if this doesn't help then I'm looking for a new pulmonary dr. Damn maddening when a family dr knows more than a specialist.
Now roger I said he SOUNDS LIKE, not that he IS. ;) Just tickles me to see someone trying to play guardian roll so I was looking for an explosion of words as big as Manhattan for all the hot air that has been let fly in here.
nailingit, this is one of the few times I do agree with you on as well as what jasonb asked earlier this week.
I too have watched how HC has went off about how he was going to make history, he was going to speak at the meeting on Tuesday night. I watched from beginning to end and the only one I'd say could have been him is the guy towards the end that told them he goes to many of the meetings and watches them all. That's just my guess, probable wrong.. If not him then I'll side with jasonb and say he never went.
By the way don't he sound a bit like.. hm well another elected that has a high and mighty attitude and throws out insults by the buckets full? Nice bow tie there..
HC, as long as Portland and area schools suffer you will not see families moving back. Until they get their head screwed on straight and stop the madness of taxing saying it's for schools and in the end it never reaches the schools, no family will go back.
Why is it when they brought gambling in saying a percentage was going to "help" the schools, and yet within a couple yrs schools were failing? Why is it that the schools suffer there and our schools here can budget and the kids get a education without having to close the schools or cut the school yr days? Why is it that so many people transplanted here came here because of the school system there?
and..you are fooling yourself into think LR didn't have a bad influence on the area. Yeah you're right to some degree about gentrification, but come on go look for yourself. Any neighborhood goes through it even mine has. Look at the areas from Gresham to downtown. Once beautiful neighborhoods now looks like ghettos and have for yrs.
now I must go, have a dr I have see and to chew out and thinking about firing. When a dr changes your medicine and it makes you feel worse than before and your complaints go to deaf ears it's time to speak up. So if you hear loud screaming coming from hospital area right after noon today you'll know it me....LOL
