Wind power companies criticize BPA shutdown plan

Spain has the right idea the tax on Solar is higher then the money made on it. We should do the same with wind. The biggest problems I have is subsidies and Hydro not counted as renewable. If hydro was counted as renewable their would be no wind or solar except on freaks homes and power would cost less.

Private-sector growth pushes state's jobless rate down

The part I liked was the growth with all the lost public jobs. It looks like we could have a full recovery if we got rid of 89% of the public employees (Obama Jobs Program).

Maybe you should look at how the states and cities that get most those military contracts vote. Federal lands where supose to be self financeing. The rest are state isues the feds should not be involved in.

Letter: Neglect of East Fork continues

Ben Dennis

Some strange things in this artical like the lower 16 miles part. A good part of that is didal lands causing the slowing and warmin as well as the sand depositing. Secondly the clame of 80 degree water is one redicules it is not happening.

Things can be done to offer more shade to the river and improve the water quality but a lot of what is stated is reaction to some of what is natural. A large number of salmon are still spawning in the upper East Fork above Sunset Falls. The naturaly sillted areas in the lower East Fork where never spawning areas.

In spite of the noise this is not based on science saveing the salmon or even reality it is a fight to kill a gravel pit jobs and development.

A natural flowing river with no man made inpeadments or large water draw is doing what it has always done. Maybe just reduceing the bear population with leg hold traps and amount of fishing would help. How about seals from the Columbia and all the birds nesting on man made islands in the lower Columbia. The wrong focase to the problem will not solve the problem.

Bars claim entrapment in underage sting

The WRCs are pritty clear on when and for what reason law enforcment personal can break the law. The action in this case streaches the law a bit far. Everyone can agree it is best to prevent drunk drivers from being on the road and under age from drinking. The question is this type of sting within the boundries of WRCs and secondly even a good way to go about it. Criminal charges where already droped for reason of not being supported by state law requierments. To do a sweep is better use of money and while at it make everyone go through a breathalizer.

My real problem is when a system like this is used to make money and real problems that any enforcer could see are ignored.
