Eruption prompted fear, uncertainty

It was dark, hazy and eerie outside. We lived in Shelton at the time and were dead sure this was “the end of the world.”

We, my husband and I, called friends to see if they “knew” what was going on. No one did!

So, we all gathered at our home to plan “what to do next?”

Once we turned on the TV, we saw and heard stories that didn’t calm us down any! But we did learn that while we had particles from this eruption all over cars, the ground, those on the east side of the mountains had it much WORSE!

We were assured that staying “put” was the best thing to do. The ash and fear stayed with us days after, as no one knew what to expect next!
