ATLANTA (AP) — The Colorado Rockies have purchased the contract of left-handed reliever Joe Beimel and optioned right-hander Esmil Rogers to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

The move was announced Friday before the Rockies began a three-game series at Atlanta.

Beimel was at Colorado Springs on a minor-league deal. He pitched twice for the Sky Sox, logging 2 2-3 scoreless innings, after making 71 appearances for Washington and Colorado last season. Rogers had pitched three times for the Rockies, allowing one earned run in four innings.

The Rockies also transferred right-hander Taylor Buchholz from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list.
