NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tim Tebow says Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was just having fun when he panned the former Florida quarterback during a secretly recorded conversation.

Tebow made his remarks before he was to deliver a speech at Lipscomb University’s second annual Don Meyer Evening of Excellence fundraiser on Saturday night.

Jones was critical of former Cowboys coach Bill Parcells and said Tebow would “never get on the field” with Dallas during a 47-second, cell-phone video that hit the Internet this week.

Tebow says he hasn’t seen the video and wasn’t offended. He says he hasn’t really thought about it.

Jones has since clarified his comments, saying he has “special” feelings toward Parcells and calling Tebow “an outstanding young man.”
