ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — New York Giants backup quarterback Jim Sorgi says the injury to his right shoulder is a lot worse than he originally thought.
Sorgi is still gathering information about the tear in the anterior capsule of his right shoulder. He is taking anti-inflammatory medicines to reduce the swelling, but cannot raise his throwing arm to make an over-the-head movement.
Leaving the field as the Giants broke training camp at the University at Albany on Friday, Sorgi said he hoped that the injury will only sideline him two to three weeks.
He was hurt in the Giants’ win over the Jets on Monday night when he took a big hit while completing a touchdown pass to Victor Cruz.
