CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) — Jacory Harris was in the Heisman Trophy conversation last year, largely against his better judgment.
A fast start had Miami back in the national spotlight in 2009 until two bad losses knocked the Hurricanes out of the Bowl Championship Series mix, and Harris still hasn’t forgiven himself for letting things slip away.
This fall he says he’s smarter, even more humble and definitely better prepared to handle the pressure that comes with being the starting quarterback for the Hurricanes.
Most importantly, he’s healthy. He says a thumb injury is a thing of the past. And the Hurricanes’ hopes rest on that being the case.
