Ville Larinto seals 1st World Cup ski jump win

KUOPIO, Finland (AP) — Ville Larinto of Finland has earned his first World Cup ski jumping win by edging compatriot Matti Hautamaeki.

The 20-year-old Larinto jumped 129.5 and 124 meters Wednesday to total 240.9 points. Hautamaeki had 240.8.

World Cup champion and four-time Olympic gold medalist Simon Ammann of Switzerland was third with 238.3.

The third and fourth events of the season will be in Lillehammer, Norway this weekend.
