Young leads IUPUI over Centenary 77-69

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Alex Young had 22 points and Leroy Nobles added 20 as IUPUI defeated Centenary 77-69 on Thursday night.

Young had eight rebounds, and Mitchell Patton scored 13 points for the Jaguars (4-4, 1-0 Summit League).

Maxx Nakwaasah score 19 points and Leo Davis added 13 for Centenary (0-8, 0-1), which began its last season of play in the Summit League. The school is dropping to Division III next year.

The Gents lost their 13th straight game dating back to last season, a streak that began with an 88-71 loss against IUPUI on Feb. 11.

The Jaguars never trailed. Leading 41-28 at intermission, IUPUI began the second half with a 15-5 run — highlighted by a three-point play, 3-point shot and dunk by Young — to pull away.
