CLEVELAND (AP) — Norris Cole scored 24 points, Trevon Harmon added 16 and Cleveland State continued its best start in school history, improving to 11-0 with a 94-62 blowout of West Virginia Tech on Tuesday night.
The Vikings (11-0), who have all five starters back from last year’s 16-17 team, used a 17-0 run in the first half to open a 22-point halftime lead over the Golden Bears (4-2). Cole, Josh McCoy and Jeremy Montgomery made 3-pointers in Cleveland State’s decisive spurt.
Cleveland State pushed its lead to 43 in the second half when Gary Waters emptied his bench. Montgomery had 15 points, eight rebounds and seven assists for the Vikings, who received 13 votes in this week’s AP Top 25 poll.
Josh Proctor scored 13 to lead West Virginia Tech.
