FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) — A suspended cross-country skier from Russia insists he didn’t break any doping rules.

Nikolay Pankratov has been suspended by the Russian federation since infusion equipment was found by Swiss customs officials in his luggage in September. He also had 22 containers of a calf-blood substance not on the banned list and prescribed by a German doctor for a muscle injury.

The skier’s lawyer says Pankratov broke no rules and the suspension is unlawful. The international skiing federation is expected to rule by the end of the year.
