PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Pittsburgh Steelers are holding out injured safety Troy Polamalu and tight end Heath Miller from their game against the New York Jets.
Polamalu didn’t practice all week after aggravating a right Achilles’ tendon injury against Cincinnati. He has four interceptions in his last four games.
Miller (concussion) missed a second successive game. He practiced Wednesday and Friday, but missed Thursday’s practice due to a concussion-related headache.
The Jets sat down safety Eric Smith, linebacker Jamaal Westerman, right tackle Damien Woody, defensive linemen Jarron Gilbert, Trevor Pryce and Matt Kroul and tight end Jeff Cumberland.
Pittsburgh didn’t activate cornerback Keenan Lewis, running back Jonathan Dwyer, offensive tackle Chris Scott, defensive lineman Steve McLendon and defensive end Aaron Smith.
