NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — The FBI has cleared what was thought to be a suspicious package at New Jersey’s Newark Liberty International Airport.

FBI Special Agent Bryan Travers says the package is a computer monitor that normally emits small amounts of radiation and there is no danger.

Terminal A, which is home to American Airlines at the airport, was shut down during Monday morning’s investigation.

Travers says the monitor is being shipped to the same destination as it’s owner, who is already in flight.

American Airlines spokesman Tim Smith tells The Associated Press the package was found behind the ticket counter at a security checkpoint where checked bags are screened.
