NEW YORK (AP) — A large batch economic reports will be the focus of Wall Street on the last trading day before Christmas.
By mid-morning, investors will get reports on first-time applications for unemployment benefits, consumer spending, factory orders and the number of new homes bought in November.
Stock markets overseas are mostly lower. Japanese markets were closed for a public holiday.
Before the opening bell, Dow Jones industrial average futures are up 4, or less than 0.1 percent, to 11,499. S&P 500 futures are down less than a point to 1,254. Nasdaq 100 futures are down 3, or less than 0.1 percent, to 2,233.
