FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Dan Connolly may not play one week after his 71-yard kickoff return for the New England Patriots.

The offensive guard missed the entire second half of last Sunday night’s 31-27 win over the Green Bay Packers with a concussion and hasn’t practiced for Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills.

But his versatility is paying off for him and the Patriots.

Connolly’s long kickoff return earned him the AFC special teams player of the week award from the NFL. And his ability to play guard, center, fullback and tight end have helped him stay in the league after he wasn’t drafted in 2005 out of Southeast Missouri State.

Connolly’s return set up a touchdown late in the first half of the win over the Packers.
