EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — Adrian Peterson is not concerned that playing on a bruised thigh would cause long-term damage, and he hopes to be on the field this weekend against Philadelphia.
Peterson missed Minnesota’s game against the Chicago Bears on Monday night. He was injured when he collided on a handoff with quarterback Tarvaris Jackson the previous week and said his muscles really tightened up throughout last week.
With the Vikings out of the playoff hunt, Peterson was asked on Thursday if he considered shutting it down the rest of the season to avoid further injury. He says that is not a consideration and he wants to play in the final two games.
Peterson practiced on a limited basis Thursday and said he will do everything he can to be ready to face the Eagles.
