WASHINGTON (AP) — Amtrak is canceling train service between Boston and New York City as a major winter storm moves up the East Coast.

There will be no more trains from New York to Boston after 5 p.m. Sunday, and service from Boston to New York will stop following a 5:10 p.m. departure. That’s a total of eight trains canceled — five to Boston and three to New York.

Service between Boston and Portland, Maine, also is canceled, as are trains between Richmond and Newport News, Va.

Amtrak says service between Washington and New York had not been affected as of Sunday afternoon. The storm largely sideswiped the Washington area.
