BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A youth soccer coach from Ontario, Oregon has been sentenced to two years in federal prison on charges of selling drugs in Oregon and Idaho.

Forty-three-year-old Martin Romero Mendoza was sentenced in Boise’s U.S. District Court on Tuesday. He plead guilty in January to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

Federal prosecutors say he was one of 10 defendants arrested in May 2009 after an investigation by the Idaho State Police, the Drug Enforcement Administration and several local police agencies.

U.S. Attorney Wendy Olson says her office is increasing its attention on drug trafficking between eastern Oregon and the Boise region.
