ATLANTA (AP) — Joe Johnson has officially signed a six-year deal with Atlanta, giving the Hawks’ four-time All-Star an average of more than $20 million each year.

Johnson’s agent, Arn Tellem, says the deal is worth $123.7 million.

Johnson and the Hawks agreed to the maximum contract on Monday. Thursday is the first day free agents can sign contracts.

Johnson, who has played five years in Atlanta, was considered one of the top free agents in a field of All-Stars. He made a quick decision to re-sign with Atlanta, which won 53 games last season and advanced to the second round of the playoffs.

He has been the team’s leading scorer each of his five years in Atlanta.
