Washington State Patrol offices statewide will be closed on Monday and Aug. 6, including the one at 11018 N.E. 51st Circle, off 112th Avenue just south of Orchards.

The state Legislature mandated the layoff days due to severe budget shortfalls, according to a WSP bulletin.

Although the offices will be closed, troopers will respond to 911 calls and other emergencies on those days.

“Some office work is not time-sensitive and can be deferred to help the state meet its financial challenges,” Chief John R. Batiste said in the bulletin.
