PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State Police say the driver of a stolen car who was killed along with a passenger in a chase crash in Columbia County was wanted on seven arrest warrants.

The state medical examiner’s office used dental records to confirm the identity of 33-year-old Brooks Jay Anderson of St. Helens. He was wanted on drug, assault and other charges and was trying to get away from a deputy Sunday night when he lost control and crashed on the Scappoose-Vernonia Highway.

Anderson died in the car, which caught fire. A passenger, 37-year-old Robert J. Regan, died of his injuries Wednesday at a Portland hospital.
