Jacquie Brown was a toddler the last time someone from Southwest Washington was crowned Miss Washington. Now, the 21-year-old Vancouver woman will be going to the Miss America Pageant herself.

Brown, who represented the area as Miss Greater Vancouver, was crowned Miss Washington 2010 on Saturday during a program at the Highline Peforming Arts Center in Burien, said Neal Donowitz of the Miss Clark County scholarship organization.

The honor means Brown will represent Washington state in the Miss America pageant. A Southwest Washington resident hasn’t advanced to the Miss America competition since 1991, Donowitz said.

Brown was crowned Miss Greater Vancouver 2010 in October.
