OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Democrat Denny Heck says he has more than $800,000 in the bank in his campaign for the seat of retiring Rep. Brian Baird.

Heck, a former state representative who founded the TVW network, says he’s raised $280,000 in the last three months, and added $100,000 of his own money. He announced the updated numbers Thursday ahead of his official filing on the campaign finance deadline.

The main two Republicans in the race for Washington’s 3rd Congressional District are state Rep. Jaime Herrera, of Camas, and David Castillo, a former chief of staff to the state House GOP caucus who also worked in the Bush administration. Both are set to release their campaign finance numbers later Thursday.
