YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) — The Yakima County sheriff’s office says a man told his 9-year-old daughter to take flowers from graves at West Hills Cemetery on Memorial Day.

The Yakima Herald-Republic reports a deputy spotted the girl carrying flower arrangements to a car Monday night and found 22 flower arrangements.

The 55-year-old father was arrested for investigation of theft.

The family intended to replant the cemetery flowers at their home.
