PORT ANGELES, Wash. (AP) — The state Attorney General’s office will not file charges against a Port Angeles attorney who is running to be Clallam County’s next prosecutor and had been accused of sexual misconduct by one of his former clients.

The Peninsula Daily News reports that the state’s office said there was a lack of evidence to charge David Fox with anything.

Fox had been accused by 26-year-old Justin Mason of masturbating in front of him at an attorney-client booth at the county jail. Mason also says Fox coerced him into showing his genitals and that the attorney provided him with drugs at the jail.

Fox says he’s not surprised no charges were filed because nothing wrong happened.

Earlier, the Clallam County Sheriff’s office had alleged that Fox admitted masturbating in front of Mason, but that the act was consensual.
