Saints’ Vaughn and Arnoux feel like rookies again

METAIRIE, La. (AP) — Former college teammates Chip Vaughn and Stanley Arnoux had the good fortune to be drafted by New Orleans in the same year the Saints won their first Super Bowl.

The pair of former Wake Forest defensive standouts only wished they could have been healthy enough to get on the field even once.

Arnoux, a linebacker, tore his left Achilles tendon on the first day of 2009 rookie camp. Vaughn, a safety, tore the meniscus in his left knee so early in training camp that he never even suited up for a scrimmage.

Both are fully healthy now and say they feel a little like rookies all over again in 2010. They say they’re eagerly awaiting the chance to play at full speed, with full contact, for the first time since college.
