Rain takes wind out of sails

Regatta all but canceled as records poised to fall

So, did rain spoil your Sunday?

It sure put a damper on the Vancouver Lake Sailing Club’s regatta.

“It was a soaker,” said past commodore Gary Kokstis of Vancouver.

Told that more than an inch of rain fell in the seven-hour period preceding the 11 a.m regatta time, Kokstis said, “That’s about right, that’s about what ended up in the bottom of the boat.”
