Miami tops Texas A&M 10-3 to reach super regional

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) — Miami has won the rain-delayed Coral Gables regional championship, beating Texas A&M 10-3 behind Harold Martinez’s three RBIs.

Miami (43-18) advances to the best-of-three super regional series against Florida on Friday in Gainesville. Texas A&M finishes at 43-21-1.

Tuesday’s game resumed after being halted Monday in the bottom of the second. In all, the game had three rain delays, including one for 22 minutes Tuesday.

Martinez’s RBI double in the sixth capped a three-run inning against Aggies right-hander Barret Loux, who was selected sixth in Monday’s major league draft.

Winner Chris Hernandez (10-3) pitched two scoreless innings in relief. Aggies starter Ross Strippling (6-5) took the loss.
